In 2001 amongst other nationalities 12,50 million Germans visited the country, which is approx. 25% of the total.

Statistics assume that in 2001 almost 330.000 Germans had their holioday residences in Spain and consequently to date approx. 44 billion Euro have been invested only by Germans.

Prognoses assume that in the next five years a further 30.000 properties will be sold to Germans per year, which means an additional total investment of 5 Billion Euro.

There are several reasons for the big popularity of Spain amongst the Germans: good climate, lots of sun, relatively little rain, landscape-attractions like the sea, mountains, strong development of the economy and politics, etc versus a relatively unstable situation and political situation f.e. in countries like Morocco, Algeria, Libya, and a relative scepticism towards countries like Tunisia, Egypt, - Israel and Palestine, relative small special-markets like for example the Balkans, Italy, Greece and France etc..

Due to the very positive prognostication for the leading vacation-regions of Spain, especially the Costa Del Sol and taking into consideration the strong development in the past, an ongoing boom can be assumed . The Spanish tourism - and real estate-sector will develop into one of the most lucrative sectors for investments in Europe and the western world.
